Hello my decor diva's,
I need help with art ideas & special touches to make a grown-up duckie bathroom..

I've always wanted a rubber duckie themed bathroom, but not a little kids crappy one. I'm moving into a new place and I'll be sharing a bathroom with a kool, hip, mid 20's boy.. he's cool with the duckie theme, but also doesn't want anything too kiddy.

SO! Here are my ideas so far...
-- Sew a light blue shower curtain, appliquéing a patchwork duckie on it..
-- Accent with Lt & Med blue and yellow towels
-- Put these duckie mats on the floor (like 3 of them)..
-- Accent with wood//bamboo// zen style counter things (soap/toothbrush holder, make-up box)

** Any ideas on art work and other finishing touches?

Thank you for all your ideas!!!

When I was younger I always wanted a ducky bathroom...so I've thought about this alot.
I like the idea of a patch work shower curtain. Maybe you could go for a DIY or alternative look for the mature. You could get a simple shelf and display some duckies. Here is an awesome site I love for more interesting looking rubber ducks http://www.celebriducks.com/shop/newducks.htm

I also like the idea of adding a zen sort of vibe.

Good luck.

I know I have seen a cool looking, kind of modernish (not kiddie) rubber duckie print at either Micheal's or Joann...  I can't recall at the moment exactly what it looks like but I remember I really liked it!

Also a while back they had some rubber duckie notecards at IKEA, each a funky photo of a different color duck... I picked out my fav 4 and put them in one of those IKEA clip frames (of course painted the white mat it comes with first).

So just check around and you're sure to find some simple, inexpensive more "grown-up" duckie photos/prints!

Please spay and neuter your pets!!!

I have seen little rubber ducks with horns that are devil ducks... They come in like 4 different colors.  They'd help make it look mature.  I don't know where to get them, Walgreens is real popular here so maybe there.  I'm not sure I'm making sense. Smiley

I bought some small shelves for my bathroom (we have a tiny bathroom) and it wouldn't be too hard to lightly sand and modge podge some duck pictures on it, or (as mine are white) paint some ducks on it. Stagger the shelves (one close to the shower for convenience, one farther away and lower for the duck display or for brushes etc in a duck shaped basket?)
