I am not anti-establishment, I'm pro-peace.

My boyfriend and I have been fighting a LOT lately, and I finally decided to do something nice :] (Since I've been starting most of the fights..bad me!)

So...I made him a felt monster :]
...but not just ANY felt monster...

Meet Roxy (I was listening to Fall Out Boy's cover of the song Roxanne...yes, I was listening to Fall Out Boy. Deal :])

Looks ordinary, right?

If you see in this diagram, it says "ily <3" sewn by myself :]
I sewed it under the tongue because they're the words hiding under my tongue every time we fight.
(I'm really cheesy, I know.  Tongue)

Here's Roxy's bum. Isn't it beautiful?
I had to sew a new panel of felt because I didn't want him to see the backward image of "ily <3" on the back. I like surprising people :]

And the inside of the mouth, with the beautiful tongue that took me 15 freakin' minutes!

Total time: 2 hours.
There might be something wrong with me...

It took so long because I went to GREAT LENGTHS to make sure that most things were JUST SO.

I was using some kind of weird stitch I learned in 4th grade at church...
It makes it really clean, but it takes awhile.

I REALLY hope my boyfriend appreciates this...because I know he's not one of the "crafty-appreciating" types.
(I'm also baking him cookies...because I KNOW he likes my cookies...even if he refuses to admit it.)

Now for the apologies:

Sorry for the lengthy post and the camera phone pictures :/
I'm wordy and too lazy to go get my crappy camera that likes to die unexpectedly.

Comments, (constructive!) criticism, anything else is more than welcome :]

The boy simply LOVED the monster :]
But...he didn't like my cookies? x_x
I mean, I know he had some of them, but he was like "Well, I would've preferred crunchy cookies."

He's so weird.
But thanks for the comments :]
It makes me feel better than great.

I really like the idea of the words hiding under her tongue.  That is a very sweet make-up gift.  You're one smart girl, too, to realize that guys are notoriously crappy at appreciating our labor-intense crafts.  Baking cookies ensures that he'll gush about something, at least.  Your craftster friends will gush over that uber cute monster!

p.s. I'm old and I like Fall Out Boy, too Wink

Have we got some internal sequin issues, Benjamin?

Why doesn't evolution work with embroidery kits?

She's adorable!  I hope he sees it for what it truly is!

All the time and effort you put in shows the depth of your love and the sincerity of your apology, and your desire to work things out and stay together.

It's very sweet and cute!
