I'm not sure if reading this thread has made me feel better, or worse about my stash.

I agree. I've been knitting for a couple years, but not all the time. I'm still not very experienced. However, I used to work at a JoAnns. Always a bad idea. I've got three under the bed boxes, at least one large plastic tub, several cardboard boxes, and one laundry basket of soon-to-be projects. I am planning on getting some freestanding shoe cubby things to display the yarn so it looks nicer. ( at least I'm actually making scarves and selling them now....)

And I've got wayyyyy more fabric.

However, my man does not complain because he has *at least* 14 guitars, a small recording studio and who knows how much other music-related equipment.  Roll Eyes

I have a fantasy about someday having a spare room solely for my craftiness.

Or you go to a yarn shop you dont normally go to, and have to buy what you like because you dont know when you'll get back there!

PS I'm totally guilty of waiting til my fiance is at work so I can take my new yarn/fabric inside. >_<

You know it's funny...I had to clean out my mom's apartment (right above mine) so I could move in with her as she has Alzheimers Disease.  I had to hire a professional rubbish remover and they came on 4 separate occasions to clear out all the junk in her place.

So, there is this nice enclosed back porch.  It took the trash guys a few hours to clear it and I decided that it would be a perfect place to store my yarn and craft supplies.  Well, the darn porch is full again!  I have those giant size plastic containers stacked one on top of the other.  Then there is the bookcase full of knitting books and pattern, the cabinet that hold needles and notions and on and on Grin

So what did I do last week?  I was lucky enough to get my aunt to babysit mom while my best friend and I drove out to Webs and I bought 40 more skeins of yarn!  And a stack of books and patterns.

Oh yeah... I am broke too Wink

seeing as i'm still in school, money is tight, but somehow i still have at least three of those huge clear conatiners that fit under a bed full of yarn. some of it i got from my mother, or from tagesales or gifts, but still!

LOL how did you guess??

knitting and crocheting has made me realize that not EVERYTHING can be totally PINK... so most of my yarn consists if brown, pink, and white, or pink and other colors. =)

and i can SO sympathize with waiting until my fiance's not here to bring in my yarn - i've kept yarn in the trunk of my car til the next morning many times =X
