I found this while surfing the net, I think it is really cute. It is crocheted, but it could be knitted I think. I can't crochet, and have been knitting since April, maybe someone could experiment and come up with a pattern? I would love to make one.

unlike that pattern for the cupcake hat, i think the top would look better if you knitted in the round from the top down. if you can manage it. use a hat pattern knit from the top down, and just stop before it becomes an entire hat.

i might play round and try and work out a pattern, but The Boy's beanie is coming first.
