if there are any in dallas/ft worth/arlington/denton (there must be at least one!) i'd be happy to go the distance.

There are several posts in the Dallas section of craftster answering this question, but *sigh* here we go again.... to answer your question:
Bedford : Simpacto Yarns
Ft. Worth : Jenning St. Yarns
Arlington: Yarn Heaven
Irving: The Wooly Ewe

I like simpacto the best, but also cuz its closest to me, so I hear the Ewe is really the best.

Also consider coming out to the Dallas chapter of SnB. Were meeting this Sun.... I think..... unless were not because of the holiday, then maybe next Sun.

It's actually in Plano, at 15th and Custer (pretty close to 75).

There's a very small shop called Yarn & Stitches in N. Dallas on Arapaho & Coit... nothing like the Woolie Ewe but it's closer to me.

I drove by a place in the shopping center at Monfort and Belt Line (Dallas/Addison area) this evening that looked like a (new?) yarn store. I saw the words "knits" and "yarn" in the window, but I didn't stop to look more closely. Confirm/deny anyone?

I haven't seen it, so can't confirm/deny, but I will definitely go look!

Also there is a cute new shop near downtown called "Shabby Sheep".  I'm not sure if they have a website yet or not, but they are on Boll St. down in the State/Thomas district.  I don't know the exact address, but they are in a little yellow house.  Ronda, the owner, is super!
