Alright, so my town has this thing every year called "The Rubber Ducky Race." It's a fund raising event where you buy a duck and let it drift its way to the other side of a pond. If your duck is first, you get a prize, etc. Well, my friends and I found about a hundred used rubber duckies near the garbage at our high school. (All neatly bagged up!) We're techies in the theater department, so we stashed them with our other props. Now it's summer, but I could get to them if I wanted. I keep thinking there is something awesome we should be doing with them, but I don't know what. Thoughts? Feelings? Suggestions? Thanks!

Why in the world would they ever throw away that many rubber duckies? O_O

You could always paint them with different designs and decorations. Tie it up with a ribbon and it'll make a neat gift. Grin

100 little duckies?  that's great... you could do 'duckies on parade'  like what Rubybaga suggested- painting them with all different designs.  You know like the cows on parade... where different artists painted cows?

Do you suppose you could melt them?  might be toxic... it'd be kind of funny to see a little duck bowl or something?!?   lol

Cool! I wish I had 100 little duckies... I'd paint them all and change their facial expressions. Like little vampires, zombies, and creepy clown duckies! How fun Smiley

Did you hear about how the guy who went on a rampage at Virginia Tech bought 37 rubber duckies on Ebay and no one knows what he did with them or where they went?  Maybe you found his stash....

As well as painting them you could make little hats too. Maybe you could have a pool party where you dump all the ducks in the pool (you could use them in games too). People could take them home as favours.

uh....paint them....
make soap with the duckie inside.
use them as bathrrom decorations.
the usb port thingys are adorable...
you could try to hollow one out and put a candle inside...be careful though cause it could melt...

Thanks for the help, guys! I think I'm going to give painting a try, maybe have a rubber ducky party. There are just so many of them...

That's totally weird, but I checked the article and, thankfully, my rubber duckies look a bit different! Thanks for the heads-up, though.

-You could decorate them in various ways (using sharpies, ribbon etc) think cool duck, baby duck, devil duck etc. They would make fun favors at a party!
-Lay them in rows on a table top and place a glass piece over them so you can see them all.
-They would make a crazy border around a room
-During easter you could hide rubber duckies instead of eggs
-decorate cakes with them
-check this out: rubber ducky USB flash drive http://www.makezine.com/blog/archive/2006/05/how_to_make_a_rubber_ducky_usb.html
-place card holder: http://www.rosemarycompany.com/1845.html
-you could always donate to a charity for kids
-cut out slots in his back to stick toothbrushes or paint brushes or knitting needles even in.
-make a curtain out of them!
-make into various key chains
-not sure how you make these: http://uk.gizmodo.com/MINIFLDUCK4.gif But they look cool!
-wind chime or cat toy?
Alright thats all I can think of. Have fun. I'll let you know if I think of anything else.

My sister's friend buys different duckies for every holiday (Santa for christmas, a withc for halloween, etc.) from this website and gives them out as gifts:  http://www.pricehot.com/rubberducky.html

I'd say that's inspiration for making your own crafty creative duckies!

Tetris, pretty colors, and (of course) lots of knitting!
