are you returning to Belfast? I have a friend who teaches at a Montessori school there and lives in Northport.

Why yes, I am!

Actually I live in Northport.
What part of Northport is your friend in?

I know a couple people who have worked at the Montessori school.... via the toystore I worked at one summer.

I'm in the Auburn area (moved from the Portland area about 3 months ago). Its lonely as hell here but I'm a stay-at-home, unschooling mom so I haven't gotten out much! I spend lots of time on various unschooling email loops and I'm thrilled to have found this site! I had studied art for years and after I had my first child and went through two major moves I lost my creative drive. Well, I'm finding it again and its nice to have a place of inspiration to come to! Of course now there is TOO MUCH I want to do!

When I went to school up north, I used to drive through Houlton every month. Can't say as I ever saw much of it other than the fast food joints, but man did I love the lanscape of northern Maine. You're lucky to be up there! Smiley

auroravioletta - I live in Rockland now, but I  grew up in Rockport - just a few miles away from you.  I've lived all over the country, but Maine just kept calling me back.  Of course, this time of year I'm beating myself over the head and shouting, "What the hell was I thinking?!"

No kidding! Rockland/Rockport's pretty much next door. My mom and I go down there relatively frequently for fun. (You know, the whole Camden-Rockland shopping in expensive stores without spending any money kind of fun.)

I too can't wait for July when spring gets here. I've been so far away so long, I'm having a hard time getting re-acclimated to the cold weather. It doesn't help that the heat circulation in my house is so bad that I have to wear gloves to type at night! Brrr!

I live in Southern Maine, just outside of Portland.  I have lived here all my life.  Glad to see others here from well uh.... here!

Most knitters drink tea or coffee whilst knitting..... I drink bourbon.

I live in South Portland Maine but I grew up in Old Town/Orono area!  Lotsa time to do crafty stuff with out too much distraction (except from DIY websites;)!!!  Maine is good, snow is getting old!
