I'm so in!

BTW: If anyone's having problems making the pentagons (it looks like the headband is made of crocheted pentagons rather than hexagons), I made up a pattern last night when I started this project-

Ch 6, sl st in 6th ch from hook to make loop

Row 1
Ch 3, 18 dc in loop, sl st in third ch of turning ch

Row 2
Ch 2, *sc in next 3 dc, 3 sc in 4th dc* repeat from * to * all the way around.

Row 3 (optional)
sl st in each sc around. Fasten off.

Ok, here's my first try at a pentagon.

I used a 1.5mm hook and some crappy acrylic yarn since I didn't know how it was going to turn out. I'm going to use burgundy embroidery thread for my real one.

So what do you think?

I didn't use derscroot's pattern, but from what I see, it's pretty similar! I just winged mine as I went.

So how far have you guys gotten?

(and for the curious souls out there, that's a calculus book behind.. ugh to exam revision!)

How far has everyone else gotten to? Am I the only one working on this? D:

Oh well. 4/16 pentagons done!

The colours aren't so nice here, but it's a gorgeous burgundy mercerised yarn. I promise that the pentagons are more even than that! I haven't blocked them yet, and since I'm crocheting tightly, it looks uneven.
Hope I don't run out! Oh well, I'll pick up more tomorrow.

Edit: 8/16 done! Enough for a day!

I love that colour of the yarn!

Don't mind me asking, but what pattern did you use? Smiley

I am in. I am still trying to make gifts for my best friend who is getting married on May 5th. The date is coming faster than I can craft. So I will start but not finish for a bit. BTW how do you connect the pieces?

Yeah, well I ran out of yarn and I can't find any like it. I'll have to start over. Sad

Oh well! I picked up 100g of yarn today, so I know I won't run out. I got a creamy orange, but I won't start till Sunday... well I shouldn't. It's DMC's Petra, colour 5 and the yarn story lady and I chose it together even if we didn't speak the same language! Smiley

Anyways, I'll post pics once I'm there, even if no one seems to be doing it. Tongue

Edited to put in yarn name.

Thanks lisiepeasie. I don't really have a pattern though. Sad I can't write a pattern to save my life, but derscroot wrote her pattern on top. You could use that.

baby-bumblebee - i think after making the hexagons either you can crochet the edges together or stitch together. it shouldn't be too hard, but I'm yet to try.

so far 9/16 done, but I'm out of thread. eek. must get more!

post pics guys! am i the only one doing this? Sad

Hye Jea

Don't start over. The two colors might look great together. My room will be in those fall colors and the fabric I got to make a duvet cover has deep reds, browns, and oranges in it and I LOVE LOVE it.
