This sweater looks just delicious. Anyone else seen it and thinking of making it? If only I'd had this pattern in hand when I was in Weaving Works in Seattle this weekend to pick out some lovely yarn....

Oh wow! That's gorgeous, but I can't right now. I just bought her book, though (Fabulous and Flirty Crochet--so many cute patterns!). I love her style!!

Edited to add: For those of you who also knit and like the kimono style sweater, there's this pattern: http://sweaterbabe.com/knitting-patterns/cables-lace-knitting-cardigan-project.htm.

I like to do personal swaps now and again.

I knit, crochet, and make stitch markers.

Just pm me if you wanna swap. Smiley

Yeah, I would have bought the book, I think, if this pattern had been in it, but it's the one I liked the most, so I'll settle for the library for it:)

I bought yarnish stuff for it yesterday, not what's called for at all, but a similar weight, so now I'm just waiting for payday to buy the pattern....

I'd love to join this CAL!  I want to make this for a friend's birthday - its PERFECT for her, and her bday is in August, so this is perfect timing...

I too, await payday.

What yarn ya gonna get?

I procured six balls of Bernat Matrix in Modem Marine. It's totally different than what the pattern calls for, but I think it'll be cute with my hot pink tank top:) And I have enough fluffy sweaters for the summer, I think that this will be not hot for summer, but still cute....

Have you started? It's harder than I thought it would be...I'm only three rows in so far. I picked up a fingering weight yarn like the pattern calls for, but I think it would be better with something a little heavier.

I've done one row. I actually was on the third, before I realized I was doing the swatch.... Woops! So I had to rip a bunch out and restart, and I haven't gotten around to it yet. I gave up on the matrix stuff before I even finished the chain on the swatch, way too thin, even though happy hoooker says 3/Light is like, two steps up from the fingering, and I'm going with this bernat stardust stuff I bought at the thrift store, not sure what weight it says, it says size 7 / 4.5 mm needles. It seems to be working much better, although my tension is still kinda screwy...

Yeah, I'm not such a fan of the fingering yarn.  I'm usually a really tight crocheter.

Staysha, that is looking lovely! You're much further along than me, I've totally been distracted by schoolwork, I'm only on the fourth or fifth row....

That sweater is beautiful, and yours is coming out lovely. This one is definitely on my wish list. I'm watching to see how well this pattern works out. The stitch looks similar to the shawl in The Happy Hooker book.

The stitch looks similar to the shawl in The Happy Hooker book.

I didn't even notice, but now that you mention it and I take a look, it is almost exactly the same, the only difference is that it's just triple crochet, not doubletriple, and the kind of "support" rows in the shawl are all sets of three chains, while this one goes three-two-three chains....  neato!
