Edit: We have a gallery!
Here's hoping I've done this right.  Woo, first time organizing!

Swap name:  Penpal-themed swap
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: S is for Summer
Sign-up date range: June 17-July 1
Date to send item by: July 28

Limited to a certain number of people? (optional): 24

Restricted to people who all live in the same country? No

All ages allowed? Or 18+?  All ages! Smiley

Swap Organizer himself/herself meets these conditions:
- Has fully read the Swap Info Guide: YES
- Has successfully completed two swaps as a participant: YES
- Is not organizing more than three swaps right now: YES
- Will recruit a co-organizer or give all details to a Swap Moderator if this swap has more than 25 participants: YES

Swap Organizer will check each participant to make sure they meet these conditions:
- Has been a member for at least one month: YES
- Has posted at least 15 times: YES
- Has completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time: YES
- Is not currently signed up for more than five swaps: YES
- Does not have any negative feedback: YES

Details of swap:
This is a swap for people who enjoy penpalling and mail!  (This is not a swap for finding a penpal.  But if you and your partner hit it off and would like to exchange letters, go for it. Smiley

In this swap, you'll make 1 "medium/large" item, and two "small" items.  If you'd like to make more than that, please run it by your partner, first. Smiley  So that we can keep shipping low (because we have to buy stamps, after all), items should fit into a 11.625inch X 15.125inch mailing envelope.  (That measurement was taken from the U.S. postal service website.  Don't worry about finding exactly that size - just wanted to give you an idea.)

(No idea what I mean by small/medium/large items?  Here's how I've seen it explained before:
large = 3 hours crafting time
medium = 2 hours crafting time
small = 1 hour crafting time
Now, I'm kind of a slow crafter, so I've never once had my actual crafting time match up with those examples, but it gives you an idea.)

What kind of things could be crafted for this swap?  Stationery, address labels, items crafted using stamps, items that are mail themed, stationery folios, mail organizers, stamp holders, stickers, decorated writing utensils... lots of room to be creative!

Here are some fun links for inspiration:
Air Mail pouch
Felted Air Mail pouch
Postage Stamp Necklaces
Postage Stamp People (ATCs)
Postage Stamp Decoupage
Mail Holder
Vinyl Record Mail Holder
Junk Mail Bowl

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

Name of swap
Craftster username
Email address
Your real name
Mailing address including the country
Would you be willing to ship to an address outside your own country?

Tell me about your letter writing.  How long are your letters, usually?  (useful info for making stationery sets.)  Do you usually type them or handwrite?  What kind of stationery do you like - big, small, lined, unlined, postcards, fold-cards, sheets of paper.  Do you often include postcards and photos, and need envelopes big enough to accomodate them?  Do you have lots of penpals, and need a way to keep your "answered/waiting to be answered" letters organized?

What are some styles/colors/motifs you like?  For instance, do you like things that are cute/kawaii?  Do you like elegant stuff?  Are you big on frogs?  Is blue your absolute favorite?

Is there anything you don't want that your partner should know about?

Anything you'd especially love to get?  This could be a type of craft, or an item, or something with a particular theme.

What sorts of crafts might you send? Do you knit?  Are you awesome at making journals?  Are your hands one with Sculpey?

What are your interests/hobbies?

If you'd be open to getting a t-shirt or other clothing item, please include measurements/sizes here.  (If you'd rather not receive any clothing items, please say that, too.)

Are there any links that might be useful to your partner?  Wists, blog, website, anything?

Please include any other information you think might be helpful.  Smiley

Also remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap.

So intriguing... If I get feedback in time, I'm interested. I wish the signing deadline was later!

Interesting swap, I'll consider it.  I like getting snail mail, and have gathered a few friends on Craftster, which kinda feels like having penpals sometimes.  If I joined this I'd be waaay too tempted to make some paper though, it is winter where I live and we are in a drought so it might not be a good idea to make paper right now.  One of my previous swap partners made me address labels once, it is really really nice to have personalised stuff.  Hmm, I have always wanted to make postcards out of real photos, could be an excuse to finally do that.

I think you should get an exception because you've got over 200 posts..

I'd do this, but I want a penpal, not crafts for a penpal. :/ I'll think about it.

Well.  I could extend the sign-up cutoff a few days, and thus the send-out date equally.  What do people think?
