I love knitting toys, but I cant seem to find any patterns where I live. I was looking online, but have no idea. I am in the UK, and would prefer to buy from UK. Can anyone tell me of any sites with patterns either free or to buy

I don't really know where you can buy toy patterns, there are some great books for knitted toys though. Search this board, there are some discussions about what books are good (I haven't used any so I wouldn't be able to say!)

I do know where you can find FREE patterns though! Knitting pattern central http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/directory/toys.php is a great place to start. Knitty - http://www.knitty.com - has some really cute toys like a cat in britches http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter05/PATTkate.html, search the archive for "whimsies, etc". Also if you like quirky toys that are kind of different to other toys (a raincloud stuffed toy for instance) check out http://mochimochiland.com/ for some free patterns and some other patterns for sale.

Hope that helps!

(p.s. I've no idea how to do links that aren't copying and pasting the url but embedding it in a word. I'm sorry if the long links are really annoying.. can someone teach me? thank you!)

Have you tried your local library? Mine has a great selection of books and if they don't have what you're looking for you can always have it sent in from another through the Inter-Library Loan system.

Did you tried Etsy.com?

And surfing trough (knitting) blogs: you'll find a lot of links in sidebars to free patterns!

Thanks...I've looked at all the sites you've recommended! Think I might need to buy a few more hours in the day!

There was a thread about this awhile ago! Try searching. It was pretty recent.

Some that were mentioned are Roxycraft, Mochiland, and you can definitely get A LOT of free ones at knittingpatterncentral.

I've recently found a free pattern online, for the most adorabe bunny that I've ever seen.   Roll Eyes  If I remember correctly, I think she's around 17 inches tall when finished?
I'm so anxious to start knitting it, but so many other projects that I've got to finish off first.
I'll give you the link and if it doesn't work, just do a google search for YvonneKnits Honey Bunny.

It'll take you to a place that says the pattern is 20 cents-sold out, but it is free. You only have to send her an email (she shows her email address), and she'll email you the pattern. I got my pattern real quick.

Here's the link. I hope it works, and I think you'll love her just as much as I do. I think she's such a sweetie!

Good luck with it and, Happy Knitting!    Grin
