So I haven't posted here in months and it is waaay past Halloween, but I've been meaning to post this. I wanted a leprechaun costume from a catalog but it was too expensive, so I asked my mom to make it for me. This was the original (a little too sexy for me haha):
And here's the one my mom made:
I love the way it came out but she will never take on such a big project again! Ha. She didn't use a pattern for the skirt and the top was made by altering a pattern for a panelled tube top. There are loops up the front and its laced with black ribbon. I bought one of those gold craft loops and sewed it on as a buckle and made a wand from the sequined fabric scraps and shamrock garland.
I wish I got a better picture. The details aren't so great in these ones. My dad said my ancestors would be rolling in their graves  Tongue
What do you think??

Moms are the greatest. My Mum just finished a dress for me because I gave up on the ruffles.  Although she now hates ruffles as much as I do, heh...

How about a dyeing techniques board?
