I'm an avid knitter who just started picking up the hooks. This is my first time following a crochet pattern (they are kind of intimidating). I'm glad I took the plunge though, I love how this turned out. It only took me two days and one skein of Malabrigo which, by the way, is totally gorgeous and lovely to work with. I actually finished it last week but have been struggling unsuccessfully to find something in my closet that it actually looks good with. Sigh. So I may not get as much use out of it as I like. But I think it's really beautiful. Now I'm all amped up to start on some of the other patterns in that book!

Ooh!  This is the first rendition of the corset that I've seen.  It looks fab.  Love, love Malabrigo.   Smiley

I didn't think much of the belt when I first saw it in the book, but I love yours!
This is the first one I have seen done. Very nice!

Thanks! I haven't seen any others done either. Which is kind of funny, because when I bought the book that was the first pattern I knew I needed to make. I tend to like weird pieces of clothing, though. Wink

I wish it went with more of my clothes, though. It doesn't look very good with jeans, loose shirts, or shirts with any patterns or writing on it. Which is 90% of my closet. Oh well. My BF's sister suggested I make it into kind of a fanny pack, adding a little hidden pocket on the back for an ID and cash to use when going out to a bar or club when you don't want to bring a purse. I still might do that.

This was my first time using Malabrigo. I'm totally in love with that yarn. Manos de Uruguay was my favorite before, but Malabrigo is merino (my absolute favorite fiber) and cheaper too.
