This started out as Simplicity 3850, Built by Wendy. I didn't like the elastic with the gathers at the neck so I decided I wanted to make it pleated. So I made my mock up and discovered that the size for someone of my bust does not work well. It was tent like everywhere and fit over my bust real funny. And since I have fat arms, that was particularily uncomfortable. So I ended up slashing and spreading the sleeves, draping and pinning pleats all around the neck, and tracing a RTW shirt's torso for the fit. I took the bottom of the sleeve in with an inverted pleat. And I made self-fabric bias binding for the neck and the sleeve hems. The shirt hem is turned up with slits/vents on the side seams. I wanted to make it out of a silk crepe I've had lying around, but I was so scared of screwing up the fabric, I bought some cotton from Jo Ann's clearance section.
