I've tried knitting with yarn made from plastic bags a few times, but never seem to get the tension quite right. There's always too much daylight shining through, or it's so tight it snaps.

Any tips and tricks? Casting on / off? Needle size? Help?!

I made a purse from plastic bags, but I also carried it with some cheapo acrylic yarn I had inherited from someone. It gave it some extra substance and strength.
