Kinda weird that as of right now there is only one other entry in this contest, and it too is a record purse.  Maybe this will end up being a record purse contest.  Anyway, mine's a bit different.  I started by drilling about 25 holes, one inch apart, on the lower 2/3 of two different records.  Then I melted them in the oven, and rolled back the top 1/3 of the record over a dowel.  The melting also gave the rest of the record that slight wavy look around the edges.  Then I sewed a band, punched holes in the band, and hand sewed the band to the record.  I took strips of the same fabric, and braded them to make the handles.  The handles are threaded through the rolled back portion of the record.  Enjoy!

And a looking down into it shot:

Thanks for looking!  Comments/critiques welcome!

Yes, the coordination of the colors in the record label and the fabric is super fun.  The wave effect is really neat.  It seems like there was a dance called "The Wave" sometime back in the late 1960 - how awesome this style would be for any of those tunes. --- duh say is the bosa nova one of those wave dances ? Smiley

 Beautiful entry.

back to say: Ok, OK had to go look it up and one version of the Bosa Nova dance has the dancer waving one arm. LOL  but it was early 60s not late.  Memory is fading.   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bossa_Nova_(dance)

I really like the way you curved the edge of the records over to form the top of the bag! And, as has been said, the color co-ordination of the label and the fabric is spot on!

The choices you make today determine the choices you will have tomorrow.
