Paper cuts and hot glue burns since 1985

One day whilst dumpster diving I came across an old tackle box.  Inside were some sweet vintage finds (the box itself was old, I use it for my paints and pastels now) The next day I decided to go check out some yard sales and found these big books from the 50's and early 60's called Comptons Yearbooks and they basically have a look back on the year in question.  I loved it for their old pictures and text.  Anyhoo, I made this collage for my dad using some of the old tackle and some pics from the book.  Unfortunately, the background is kinda blurry, because that thing that says splitshot is a small tin that used to hold sinkers and it's keeping the canvas from laying flush with the scanner.

I also used paints and distress ink as well as an old tape measure.  Comments appreciated (if you can even make the dang picture out!)

Thanks for the wonderful comments guys.  I was kinda worried about this one, I"ve done a lot of colage before, but never really incorporated acrylics before.  They're a little hard to blend.  Plus, I'm getting to know gesso, I like it a lot!

It's great!  I love the work you do, especially with the distressing and little embellishments.  The line and hook attachment is a great little add-on Smiley  Now I really want to find something to make for my Dad...he loves handmade gifts.  I'm sure he'll love it.
