It's a cactus pin cushion! Based on a pattern by Crafty Joy. The first image is in it's pre-sewing stage and you can see where the top had to be pinned to the pot. I pricked myself so many times during the actual sewing process. -_-; Anyway, the latter picture is the result! It now belongs to my mother.  Grin

Very cute! My mother would love one of these too (well in theory, she loves cacti, but she's a total hater of the sewing, and pretty much everything else crafty...I may have been switched at birth)

What do you stuff a pincushion with? I've never made one. I was wondering if fiberfill would be too mushy, does it have to be something firmer so the pins stay in it?

that really is a cute idea!  I have lots of cactus in my yard, so I should make one of those.

Oooo that's cute! I've been thinking about making myself a pin cushion and ditching the tomato (although I have a fond nostalgia about tomato pincushions).  What did you stuff it with?

Great job!  I'd love to have a pin cushion like this instead of my boring container with a magnetic top.

I don't know what Dobedoop used in this one but any pincushion I've made, I used fiberfill and stuffed it very well.
