I made this purse for a friend of mine who is graduating high school this week.  I wanted it to look a bit more professional, so I gave it a few features that were new to me. 

First of all, I added magnetic snaps to it.  SO easy, and they add so much to the bag.  I used this tutorial:

Then I added a zipper pocket to the inside.  It's very much NOT perfect, but it turned out pretty well, I think.  The pocket is the same fabric as the lining.  I used this tutorial for the zipper:

Here are the pics of the finished product:

The sides aren't really all wonky like that.  I need to iron it...

I really love those colors together, where did you get the fabric for the lining and the bottom?  Good job, I hope your friend likes it!

LOVE THE LINING FABRIC!  i think i might have to go down to joanns and see if i can find it!  very retro, kinda atomic!
