a bleach stencil tee i made for my bf, he has recently moved to rural florida; where, we all know some of the most close-minded people in the nation live.  So I made him this shirt for the silent protest of stupidity.

I lurve this shirt!  I may have to steal this idea. Roll Eyes  I LOL because I live in FL, not too rural an area, but close enough and certainly know what you're talking about.  I am from NY originally and am pretty liberal, so I kinda stick out.  Good luck to him.

Lol looks like people like your bf more than the shirt! Wink Hehe, the stencil is great, it's so clean. I love the contrast of the bleach color with the blue. It's a well designed shirt, and to go with everyone else, he's cute and wish him the best of luck in FL Tongue

Great job. Smiley

Very nice job! Very clean lines! Impressive!

How do you do the bleach? Do you use liquid or a pen? Freezer paper? Smiley

There is no such thing as impossible....the word itself says "IM POSSIBLE".

thanks for the comments everyone, i'll have to let my bf know what a hit he's been on here.

shizen:  i'm pretty ghetto and low maintenance about the stenciling.  i used bristol paper to make the stencil, its thick enough that the bleach doesn't bleed through.  roll up strips of tape (diy double-sided tape) and put them around the edges of the stencil so that it hugs the shirt as closely as possible.  covered up all areas of the shirt that were not covered by stencil, with newspaper, filled up a bottle with bleach (i don't remember if i diluted it or not, i had tried different variations of bleach on some test fabric earlier) and sprayed the bleach over the stencil.  I sprayed it as i waved my hand back and forth over the shirt, i'm not sure if spraying it directly at the stencil would make it too saturated and cause the bleach to bleed.  It is also very important to put something inside the shirt, so that the image doesn't bleed through to the other side; again with the ghettoyness, i just use grocery bags.

great shirt-- I was actually thinking of making the same one for *my* boyfriend...or myself  Grin.  I'd say creationists are high on my list of pet peeves (ok, my feelings are a little stronger than 'pet peeve'ish).

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
