You rock.  That coat is just soooo cool.  It looks like you have the attitude to pull it off too.  I'll bet it's really warm too.

Very nice indeed! You did a great job and should be proud!  Smiley

Actually you might want to line it to be able to wear it in the summer, since it doesn't breath to much I'd suggest a nice silkies fabric like other dusters have just because it feels nice against the skin in 102 degree weather. Of course this is coming from someone who has and will continue to give in to the love of a leather trench coat in full summer.

That is amazing. You did some huge amounts of work on that thing and I can NOT believe you did that stuff by hand! Bravo! I love the idea and the finished looks amazing. Wow.

That is at least twenty different kinds of awesome. The different shades of denim look amazing, especially with the way the grommets are placed. Where did you get the pattern for the duster in the first place?

First off: Thanks for all the comments!

Secondly: I forgot to mention what the pattern was...It's the costume duster (adapted for several personas in one basic design-Laura Croft, a Sin City Miho look-alike, and Resident Evil or some such wannabe) from Simplicity #4962. It simply was the best looking (cut, tailoring, etc) duster pattern I had seen yet. I love coats, and have been searching for a good duster pattern for a very long time. It called for bias tape and no lining, so that the seams are clean on the inside and hidden by the tape on the outside. But bias tape just wasn't going to work for denim, plus I had other plans... (I want to make the brocade version they have for their Miho-wannabe, but brocade is muy caro!) The belt was entirely my own improv, as were the grommets...

Thirdly: Um..I don't remember anymore.

Thanks again for all of your feedback!

Shocked that is SO COOL. I think I know what to do with all those jeans now! Wow. It looks like it belongs on the runway. (but it also still looks realistic...which i really love about it)
