i knit this for a coworker... i dont know much about totoro but i looked at some other hats that were made and lots of pics...

whaddya think?

Its knit out of patons classic merino wool on 4.5 mm/ 7us needles the ears were knit using 4mm dpns and i used a little stuffing to make them stand up better..

felt for the white part of the eyes and black patons wool for the rest of the facial features...

it was quick and easy and fun. i think i really like knitting characters..

I knit this Hello Kitty hat for a swap.

Its knit with acrylic yarn (she is allergic to wool) my own pattern for hat and ears.. they bow is interchangeable... i sewed a little piece of velcro on one of the ears and then the felt just sticks to it..

like this one?

I LOVE TOTORO!!! Where's the pattern?

And the hello kitty is so cute, especially with the addition of the real bow. Pattern?

yeah its just my basic hat pattern then the hello kitty ears were trial and error they are backed with white felt for stability and the totoro ears took a couple of trys but they are fun...
