I made these for my friend's 5 month old daughter.

I vaguely followed the hat pattern here.

Modeled by my light-bulb lamp


Bib. I used the basic instructions from mason-dixon knitting and added some strawberry details, like a knitted strawberry applique and cute strawberry buttons, to make it match the hat.

Well, the pattern calls for a button closure. I figure it'll mostly be worn while eating when adults are right there. They are on the back when worn, and I reenforced them when I sewed them on, so I think they'll be ok. I wouldn't suggest handing one over to an infant and leaving the room or anything, but I think as it's not an item meant to be worn constantly it should be safe. If her mom is worried about 'em she can always hang onto the bib for a while until she's older. Kids stay messy for a pretty long time.  Grin
