Well I got my invite... on the day that classes started.  A week later, I have done almost nothing but add projects and yarn and future projects.  I am constantly loading pictures of stuff on flickr.  My roommate still can't figure out why I would want pictures of my yarn.
I am hurdles2006 over there too, if anyone wants to be my friend.

I'm also mooshie on there feel free to say hi if I ever figure it out! lol

favorite part of ravelry?  i really like being able to see someone's projects all in one place, seeing all updates on my friends' pages in one place, and seeing pictures of the podcasters i listen to...oh...and the destash sales...which are not helping me destash at all...haha

Has anyone else had problems loading the ravelry website?  The site worked fine for me until a few hours ago and now it just says connection timed out, but I can access other websites  Huh

I recently discovered the joy of finding out what substitute yarns other people are using.  One of my pet peeves is finding a pattern I like and having no idea what an appropriate substitute would be because I hate fiddling with gauge so I like to get a yarn that will knit up pretty much the same.

Thanks to Ravelry I realized someone knit a pattern I liked but didn't know what yarn to use for, with a yarn I've been yearning to buy but had no project for.  Yay!

Hmm...I'm not having any problems.  I was having that issue with another website one day, so I used a proxy to get into it, and it worked fine.

Proxying means using another website as a cover to get to the website you want.  This works to avoid blocked websites at work/school, etc.  I had to use it when Comcast was being weird about some websites and won't let me get to them, I got the timed out response a few times.  Although proxy surfing might seem a bit shifty, but you should be fine.  I use http://cl0ak.com as my proxy, so you may want to try that.  Scroll down a bit to find the url input box.

Find me on Ravelry!
