i just want to share with you girls about freecycle. i found so many GOLD craft books from 1970s and 1980s. i know that these books are so old and tacky.. but these books got so many great crafts that we have never thought of and we can always modify the patterns.

please give yourself a try on freecycle and look for some craft supplies, books, or left over craft supplies in your location.

hell, the give-aways from freecyclers are free! Smiley

I love FreeCycle too. I put out a post for knitting needles and crochet hooks sometimes on my local FC group (no responses yet) I also gave away a ton of new, expensive, books about learning to knit/crochet since I didnt need them anymore. I recieved an overwhelming response to that offer and picked one at random...turns out the lady who came for them lived near me and has a Yahoo crafters group that she invited me to join. The group is planning a get together soon in Sept. so not only did I feel good about giving away my items, I also now have the oppurtunity to meet new friends because of a single FreeCycle post !

My local freecycle does these Yardsales. Everyone brings their stuff to somebody's house every 6 months or so, and you grab what you want. I've found fabric, craft supplies, and last time I even found an old Atlas sewing machine in wonderful condition that I'll be using to do quilting!

Freecycle brings the kickass.

Chuck Norris does not knit. He bangs the table, and the shockwaves force the yarn to create clothing.

I'm totally in love with Freecycle - it's just catching on in the UK and I'm getting everyone I know into it.

I think you do have to join Yahoo! I'm afraid.

I LOVE FREECYCLE! I've only been a member about a month but I've receive SO MANY AWESOME things. So far I've received...
2 mini blinds, new shoes for my beau, a corset and trash bag of awesome *new WITH TAGS* ligerie (Fredericks and Victorias mostly), baby shower bags, baby clothes, a boppy and Shmee. He's my beau's pet rat of 2 days.
The girl posted saying her sis had allergies to it. We spoke on the phone after I sent her an extensive email. She asked if I had any other small pets before and it was kind of like a Q and A. "what did you feed them?, how often were you with them?, do you travel?..."
I went over and the girl was breaking out in hives and having a sneezing fit trying to clean the rat cage.

Im just SO glad I was able to take him. The girls were going to let him 'free' on the hill if there were no takers.

Long story short, I love freecycle.
