I have a sewing machine, and I know how to use it

My wall next to the tub is cracked and peeling, but the stuff the wall is made from is ok.  It's just the finish.  What can I do  to fix it.  I don't want to have to replace the wall board

don't you hate it when paint peels! Probably you will have to do some scraping and sanding, after that you might have to fill in uneven areas with spackle and finally repaint using bathroom paint which repels moisture better than other paint.
