After scoring some cheap yarn from the local Salvos I whipped up this little poncho from a free Interweave pattern called Round the Capelet.  It was supposed to have a 15mm hook but I got a 10mm because I didn't think the yarn was big enough for a 15mm.  I then multiplied all the numbers by 1.5 (so instead of starting with a chain of 36 I did 54 and instead of 4 rows of trebles I did 6).

I'm really happy with it and I've already worn it several times.  Unfortunately the yarn is a little scratchy.  I'm hoping washing it in some sort of wool stuff will soften it a bit but if not I'll just have to wear it over long sleeves.

So much to make, so little time!

very pretty!  I bet you will get a lot of wear from it.  I'm thinking of making a round capelet myself but haven't decided on a pattern.

Very nice. What kind of yarn is this? If it's machine washable, some liquid fabric softener should do the trick of softening it a bit.

I like to do personal swaps now and again.

I knit, crochet, and make stitch markers.

Just pm me if you wanna swap. Smiley
