i have a bit of a library obsession and would love to get my hands on those old-fashioned check-out cards and pockets found in the back of books. i'm not sure if they've got a name but does anyone know where i might them? i've searched ebay but i can't find what i'm looking for. any other ideas?

Do you want old ones or would new ones be okay?

If you want older ones:

You might want to check with local small town libraries(Don't forget schools in not so well to do areas).  Some are just starting to get rid of the card files and go tech.  I know the file cupboard itself is usually snatched up quickly, but they may just throw away the old cards.  Cry  You might be able to get some envelope/holders from old books they are disgarding  Cry Cry  If you volunteer to help them out, they may give you some free Grin

"If I had a magic charm
It would protect you from all harm
There'd be no sirens to alarm
We could stay here every day
And if I were a super hero
Good guys all the villains zero
I'd save you from all that is evil
So you can sleep at night"

i'd take old or new.

unfortunately, i know my local libraries have done the switch since i worked there in high school and never once saw a date/name card.

it's a good idea though. keep 'em coming.

If you're looking for new ones, here's a website that sells them directly to libraries...

There's a whole bunch of things under
Supplies Catalog >
Material Flow Management >
Book Pockets and Cards

Maybe you were just searching the wrong term? Let me know if this helps.
