Here it is... the latest in my portraits of disposable items. It differs from the previous ones in that it is painted in acrylics on canvas. 22x28" I still need to touch up the background, but the rest is pretty much finished.

And now it's DONE! Hooray!

Thanks, meanteringartist and neggie - I have a couple of others on this board under the title "New digital work." They will eventually be framed in fancy gilded gold frames and hung in a row like a bunch of musty old ancestors.

My MFA show is not for another year and a half, but I have a venue set and I'm already thinking pretty seriously about the presentation. I'm hoping that the gallery will let me put a sort of wallpaper up to make that section look like a hallway in a big old house.

I don't know how you managed to make your subject matter look so good, but you did - it's very impressive!

I must sayI've honestly never looked at a disposable diaper very close before but this made me look at the centre the edges and the background! I was absolutely surprised by this thought. They say art makes one think well damn you did it here!

Very nice! What made you choose the theme of disposable items? When I read that, I thought maybe it was an environmental concept. We use cloth diapers on our son for environmental reasons, as I am a mighty tree-hugger.  Grin
