It's exciting to see what everyone is getting/has made. I hope taped_on_wings gets my package soon Smiley

Hooray!  I'm glad you liked it blendercrush!  I made two "gift boxes" similar to the case I made you and sold them instantly at last week's craft show!  Who would have ever thought those pesky AOL boxes would come in handy!

voodoodoll's package arrived today, and it is hot! i was a little worried that my tastes were too picky to make trading with strangers a good idea, but... how could i distrust a cd that came in this case?

random highlights: archers of loaf, yo la tengo, creeper lagoon, sparklehorse, polara, pavement, alkaline trio, the subteens, red house painters, guided by voices... voodoodoll is an indie rocker. she helps me rock out.

also included is a xmas mix-- voodoodoll, you have no idea what crisis you skirted in sending me this! christmas culture is a wall-to-wall barf-o-rama for me, but not only did you put my favorite christmas icon on the cover, there's only one song on here that gives me the urge to puke. well done! this will get me in the christmas spirit in the good way. highlights: ramones, johnny cash, the pogues, weezer, john lee hooker, the pretenders, etc...

(more glittery in real life.)

thanks so much voodoodoll! i think i have learned that i'm not as choosy as i think i am, or jessicakes is a great organizer, or voodoodoll is a swap genius. possibly all three.

oh my gosh, I am so happy you liked your CD!  I stole the pictures off some unsolicited, cheeseball clothing catalogue I got in the mail (liked the artwork, though).  Anyway, this was my first swap and I was a bit worried myself but you have given me swap-cult status and I didn't even have to pay you! I think I might love you. Oh, and yeah, there was one barf-a-possibility on the X-Mas mix...I'm curious to know if it's the same.

I also got my CD from madpeoplejen and LOVE IT! The artwork on the cover is really cool and I promise to post it soon ( just spent two hours bulding a house out of popsicle sticks using twenty geometric shapes and  have a big, fancy meeting in six hours that could make or break the scholastic career of a sixth grader or I would do it now).  The music is great and when I put it in the player this morning the sun came out after ten days of rain.  I swear it's true, and I had a vision of a most awesome short film while listening to it.  This is getting a bit much like journaling now, so I'll stop...

highlights include...Aimee Mann, Kent, Blinker the Star, AIR, the Bicycle Thief, Quite Satellite, Nico...

thankyou madpeoplejen!  I think I may love you, too!

I got mine yesterday! I don't have it with me now but i'll post the songs on it later. it's really good, too, and my brother made some nasty comments too, which is good :-).
admittedly, i'd only heard of a few of the bands but i really like them all now! i'll have to chase up their albums :-)

Finally Got my C.D. from LornaSaysThis today. Have yet to listen to it (Foo Fighters, Weezer's "Buddy Holly", Guns n' Roses, Yellowcard, Etc.) but it looks great, especially with it's painted case

And a little pouch encasing it (Love the little gun motif).
