I worked up this sassy girl solely because the pattern appealed to me.  I have a black canvas tote bag that I might appliqué her onto, but I'm not sure.

Isn't she cute?  The pattern is from the Vintage Transfer Finds blog.  Floresita also worked it up, you can see her version here.

You can see I took a number of liberties with the pattern.  I changed the flowers and I filled in her dress more.  I didn't stitch her cap.  I also changed her shoes.  Sadly, I could not get her cute shoes to look right, so I kludged something together and called it done.

Here's a close-up of some of the stitching:

I used a variegated thread for her dress, that's why the color changes in the x's.

I really love the way she turned out!

Human rights are for EVERYONE.  Did you know that Aung San Suu Kyi had been released from house arrest in Burma? Many other prisoners of conscience are still being detained.  Please research this topic... Amnesty International needs your help.

Thanks all!  There's something about this pattern that's just irresistibly charming.

Bless you for your comment about the shoes.  They were nearly the end of me.  Wink  I stitched them twice and pulled them out, but the fabric was starting to wear, so I told myself that however they looked the third time was going to be final.
