It' comes as a kit from habu textiles, but one can also buy just yarn: silk wrapped stainless steel(A-20) and fine merino(A-33) and just knit it in a rectangle, thanks to stainless steel you can give it any shape when it's finished.
This is a kit from Habu Textiles http://www.habutextiles.com/webfile/kit-78.html

Oh yeah, knitting with wire has been done.  A few examples are on http://www.anniemodesitt.com/portfolio/ (scroll down & you'll see the wire necklace & basket).

This is very interesting, but I'm not quite sure what to do with it.  Do you use it as a decorative piece or wear it somehow?  I think it's really cool, but I'm unsure at to its purpose at the moment...  Huh

no, it's not wire, it's silk wrapped stainless steel, it's very smooth and dental floss thin, it's a scarf and the felted part with merino is very unique and soft, it's unusual because you can wear it any time of the year, it's more a decorative piece for your neck than a warm purpose, the knit parts you can stretch and shape with fingers/hands it will stay that way, treat it as a wearable art.

You are just the coolest.  I love everything you do and this piece is just beautiful.  Hopefully some day I can be even half as cool.

If all our life is but a dream, fantastic posing greed
Then we should feed our jewelry to the sea
For diamonds do appear to be
Just like broken glass to me.

No, yarn company is Habu textiles, it's worked with 2 different Habu yarns,
the pattern is sold in a kit and the kit and the pattern is called Kusha Kusha Scarf
