I finished my Cupcake!  Excuse the cheesy mirror-shot...

I had some - ahem - "issues" with gauge, but eventually I used a much bigger hook (7mm), and made a bigger size, and eventually made one that fits!  Update:  I actually followed instructions for the size 401/2.  Even with a 7mm hook I was getting 12.5 stitches to 4 inches, so it 's actually come out about a size 34, which is just right! First time around I actually made (2nd size) front, back and 2 sleeves (even though I knew the gauge was wrong - if only I'd got the calculator out sooner...) before I realised it was never going to go around my not especially ample bosom...  Embarrassed  At least I hadn't sewed the bits together...

Then I spent ages yesterday loitering in my local haberdashery shop choosing ribbon (too much choice = bunny in headlights!) finally decided to go for a sparkly gold one.  The good thing about making it in cream is I can change the ribbon to any colour I like!

Not sure what my next project is going to be... I like Prepster and Frou Frou, but not sure what yarn I would use.  Maybe I should be getting outside in the garden and catching up on all those jobs I've "not had time" to do cos I've been too busy crocheting... Wink

Congrats on finishing!  It looks great.   Smiley I'm doing mine kind of funny--from the top down.  I'd put it aside for a week, but you've inspired me to start again.

Thanks!  The yarn is Patons mercerised cotton DK.  Which I seem to use for everything at the moment, cos it's easily available, cheap, and quite nice to use!  Grin

I love it! What size did you make? I always tend to make the bigger size if I don't know what to make and it tends to turn out huge....

Great job - I nearly finished my cupcake this weekend - just bottom edging to do - as soon as I figure out how to post picutures I will.  I had same problem with guage - I was using a heavier weight yarn (Lion-brand Cotton Ease - colour Berry), used a 6.5 mm hook and did up the the 36" bust - it still is very form fitting on my 34 inch bust and the top isn't nearly as long as in the book- so I think I might add a couple of rows of hdc around the bottom before I do the edging or do the same 3 row pattern as the sleeve edging I haven't decided.  Did pick up some lovely ivory ribbon for around the neck as well as a perfect match in a berry pink too so like you I can interchange.

Yours is fab.
