Brisbane, QLD: Craftsters go to Spinners Weavers & Fibre Artists Craft Open Day

The Queensland Spinners, Weavers & Fibre Artists Ltd are having their annual Craft & Open Day, on Sunday the 27th of May this year.  There will be lots of demos, heaps of stalls and a fashion parade     It is all at 12 Payne Street, Auchenflower (which is reasonably handy to public transport I think) between 9:30 and 3:00.  Hope to see you all there.  I for one am looking forward to watching a spinning demo, grabbing a devonshire tea and scoring some undyed handspun yarn

I am going to be there with at least 2 others. I haven't been to one before except in Toowoomba years ago. It should be interesting i want lots of  new fiber to try.Maybe we'll see you there.

I'm going, it'll be great. I'll be fighting Miss Vicki for the handspun yarn!! Brisbane inDesign is on the day before too http://www.brisbaneindesign.com.au/about.aspx- it's a big weekend for design goodness!

I think there'll be some kind of handspun scrum. A handscrum? Anyway, I'm ridiculously excited to see some spinning. I told myself I wouldn't go down that path, but it's too late.

I'm (hopefully) going - I desperately want to learn to spin, but I've never seen anyone do it, so I'm hoping to see some action there!

well, I dabble. we'll leave it at that for now. Did you get your pre-registration pack thingy? Cos mine ain't turned up yet

have had a few invites from the different showrooms reminding me to register and letting me know what interesting things they will be showcasing....but thats about it so far.
Will be interesting to see what sort of gimmics each place has.
(one lighting company has a special prize for the first 100 people to bring in a compact fluro for them to give to charity - they will let you release a monarch butterfly)

My plan is to look at all the pretty stuff, pick up as much free shit as I can carry and maybe get a price on the Ryan table by Mark Heslop in the Queensland Design comp for my work
If I ever get to know what's going on that is!!
