I found a patter for a pineapple lace skirt in that "amazing lace' book, but I don't have money to buy the book, and I've already checked the library. Does anyone know of a free pattern? Thanks!

If you can do a pineapple pattern, what about measuring your waist, laying out a piece of paper ,to the measurement. and length you want and working out with a swatch your gauge. Then do multiples until it fits your paper template? Its how i am thinking of doing one for myself as i am a plus size.

http://web.archive.org/web/20010112171100/http://www.cei.net/~vchisam/groovy/37-108.html is really cute, but takes insanely long (and gargantuan amounts of yarn) to make...  Smiley

Almost every library will buy a book to add to the collection if a patron requests it.  Draft up a short list of this and any other crochet books you and your friends want to read and deliver it to your librarian - they are usually more than happy to hear from an "expert" if they are missing popular materials in any subject area.  Just know that depending on the bureaucracy factor of your library system that it might take a while to get the books in.

Also, if the librarian can't order a new book for you, they can probably get it through interlibrary loan from a nearby state or county library system.
