I've seen someone post about a swap like this on their blog- where you send your partner supplies and your partner makes items from those supplies. You can use things in your stash, but can't buy anything and everything your partner sends you must be used in the making of something. You then send the completed items back to your partner!

I think we would have to restrict who could be in the swap- like you will have had to done at least 1/2/3/however many swaps successfuly. Becuase you need to know a person can be trusted- before you send them your much loved supplies. I'm not saying newbie swappers aren't trustworthy- but I would feel secure sending to someone who will send my stuff back, if you get what I mean!

I think this could be a lot of fun!  Smiley

I think this sounds really fun!  I wouldn't be able to participate until I complete my first swap though.

It probably won't be happening for a while yet- so you should have time to complete your first swap!

I started a thread with a very similar idea here: Spark my Creativity Swap.

I think it's a fun idea...but one I probably won't pursue.

I hope there is enough interest in this swap. I have certain fabrics/buttons/ribbons that I've had for ages- but don't know how to use them. Having a swap like this would mean great new items from things I don;t know how to use!  Smiley

does the swap partner tell you what they want or do you just work based on what they send?

I would be interested.  Would we be matched by what we can do?  I mean, I wouldn't want to send a bunch of nice yarn to someone who really only likes to make jewelry, you know?

If nobody else wants to do it, I'd do a personal swappy thing!

Yes I suppose you would say in a questionaire things you could send- and then I could match you up with someone who could make something with that- if that makes sense.

So you could want to send yarn, a bit of fabric and some beads- so you might be matched up with a knitted/crocheter, who sews a bit and wants to try something new for the swap.

Does that make any sense at all, hehe?  Smiley

Sounds like fun.  I might be up for it - depending on the timing.
