So, uh, I had this idea that I would henna my hair because

1) it would be cool to be a redhead, and
2) since i am a hippie vegetarian type, the all natural route made sense, and
3) it would be the most DIY crafty beauty thing EVVVVVVVAR
(c'mon, dying your hair with herbs? henna and cloves and paprika and grapejuice? crafty as hell.)

and therefore,

4) it would be awesome

And maybe it IS awesome, if your hair is not as dark as my hair, and it doesn't go PFFFT I DO WHAT I WAAAANNT! and ignore you.

before, about a year ago, and then more recently:

I'm trying hard to find pictures of me outside, where my hair looks a liiiittle blonde, so you can see why I thought this MIGHT work...

but uh uh--

after, a little while ago:

no dice. Just a teensy teensy bit of orange. From far away, it looks EXACTLY the same as it did before.

This is after two doses of henna, and I KNOW the mix is right (like the dye has released, and stuff) because other people have used the same mix as me at the same time and their hair goes WAAAAY red. So it's just my hair, being difficult.

If your hair is lighter than mine and you want to try it out, I highly recommend the henna for hair website:
do not let my personal failure deter your experimentation, and all that.

The henna did make my hair feel all nice and silky smooth soft (ignore the mad frizzies in the picture; it was at the end of a long day), so it does have that going for it.

...and just for fun, a picture of me with super short (for me) hair because I am seriously considering hacking it all off and starting over, but I am terrified that it will make my head look huuuge:

squid - Your hair looks really REALLY cute short! DO IT!

About the henna, try lightening your hair first? it does seem rather dark.

i never got henna to work for me, the last time i used it was the beginning of this pregnancy (so about 7 1/2 months ago). I had bleached and dyed my hair red, and it had faded horribly. and since i became pregnant i didn't want to use dye again, so i tried henna, a dark brown, thinking it would work but it did absolutely nothing. i tried a natural dye too. it could be because i had dye and bleach in my hair, but it did nothing to the roots, either. my friend cassie dyed her hair with henna red and it came out green Wink

so while I have no experience with henna dyes I do have experience with big heads and short hair hahaha. I don't have a really big head or anything I just have a long face and and was worried that short hair would make my face look longer but it actually makes it look normal and then plus my new straight across bangs it's super cute Cheesy. that picture of you with short hair looks gorgeous, great color and great length. you're very pretty Smiley

i realized that i make an awful blonde.  so i added what i thought was going to be pink and turned out purple:

more true to color (an awkward picture of my hair line):

well... i think i'm long overdue for an update D: last time i posted i had above-shoulder white hair with shaved sides (my friends were often confusing me with my best friend who, because of albinism, has white hair as well... i would give my eyeteeth for her hair! Dx)
... but much has happened since then!

SPLAT lusty lavender... my love for splat is everlasting! <3 and, i am on my roof (:

i cried for an hour, then decided i liked it. (:

my friend came over with a ton of leftover dye and this is what happened o-o. ps my fauxhawk ftw!
theeeeeen right before school started up...

! SPLAT, how i love thee! pink fetish. it glowed!
but the swimming unit came... so... i bleached it out

D: sorry for such an explicit pic with my bf. heh. some pink was left in an attractive way.

SPLAT! you know (; blue envy. sorry for more evilness o-o. i was a gypsy for halloween.

uhm, the only picture of my red hair my friend kendall decided to edit herself into it? well, luscious raspberries (did i ever post a picture of that when i had it before? hm.) with some box dye.
then i had rainbow hair, which i have no pictures of o_O. well, it was good while it lasted. then it looked like vomit. BUT my new year's resolution was to keep the same color for a long time. THE COLOR?

(trying to get at sum sour patch kids... yum!)
virgin rose, sfx! i have heard great things about the longevity, so i'm happy! heh. i already washed it, and no fading so far.
Cheesy well, that's all for now.
