A few months ago, I dyed all of my hair red.  Then, after a couple weeks, since my hair doesn't hold color very well, it faded out and was this strange orange color:

(sexy face, I know Smiley)

I hated it.  Dyed my hair all brown again, but it, too, slowly faded out.
Eventually, I had these looonnnggg brown roots, and it was the orange-y color at the ends (more of an orange-y brown this time though):

AND THEN, about two months ago (or so), I took a razor comb to my hair spontaneously, and chopped off all of the orange (after these pictures were taken, I also chopped off those tiny too-long pieces Wink) -

And thus is the tale of the first time I EVER cut my hair myself.
[it's about shoulder length now, and I'm trying to grow it out to how I had it a few years ago--really long Cheesy]

Arf. I woke up this morning and still  hate it.

i wish manic panic was available in France... They won't even ship the bleach and a tub of colour has over 30$ worth of shipping on it on the site  Shocked

I've always wanted turquoise hair. I guess I could do it now if I got a hold of some dye... I doubt I can make this any worse!!  Undecided

Tabikat89-my hubby says the bleach won't ship because its consider a hazardous material, but I could ship you a tub of color.  Its about $9.00 US where I buy it, and then it would be another $7-9 to ship it to you.  Let me know and we can work something out!  Wink

I've been dying my hair for a long while now, but it wasn't until the past few years that it actually turned out REALLY nice. Crazy colors I've had before that have no pics are red and pink, but they both turned out horrible anyway!

I can't post pictures yet, so here's the link to the evolution of my hair:

1. First is this weird bleaching that was actually the nicest my hair had ever bleached at that point.
2. The reason for that bleaching was my awesome orange hair, still my favorite color I've had.
3. The orange faded into what I called my "mac and cheese" hair.
4. Then I bleached over that and it turned out this yellow-y blonde that I also loved.
5. Then is was black for maybe like...three weeks (though it has been black MANY other times).
6. Then I bleached it again. First it was this goldish color, but then after another bleaching, it turned into the nice blonde in the picture.
7. The reason for that bleaching was for pink on the top.
8. And blue on the bottom! (I was actually expecting purple...The color was called Not-So-Shy Violet. But I still loved the blue.)
9. And then came my lovely mohawk. I loved it so so much.
10. Then the colors started to fade and look gross so I bleached it again.
11. Then, due to an unfortunate bleaching accident, I had to cut my 'hawk off =[ Worst. Moment. Ever.
12. To cheer myself up, I added some leftover color to my bangs.
13. Then that faded and I just did straight up blue. It looked really nice ^_^
14. At this point I had run out of bleach powder, so I went with a brown that turned out really ugly.
15. And that brings us to what I have today, a dark brown that actually looked black when I first dyed it. Pretty boring.

After typing that all out, I've realized that I've bleached my hair A LOT. I'm surprised I'm not bald haha.

I had a LONG back story typed out, lucky for yaw I accidentally deleted it. LMAO

Basically This was me for about 5 years:

needed to get my hair back healthy, was letting it grow out to my natural "dark blonde-brown mix" til I just couldn't take it anymore, decided to try to use a boxed "hair color removal" kit from walmart. and I got this:

That was the first time I ever trying bleaching my hair, and of course fried it beyond repair, so I had a friend come in to help with the fried parts, and she wound up taking around 3 foot off til I got this:

I was shocked when I first saw it, I wasn't sure how an old fuddy-duddy like myself was gonna pull off such a drastic hair color in my small southern town, but I have been getting compliments from some very nice strangers. LOL.So yeah, it has been figuratively, and well as literally growing on me. I wonder how hard it would be to replicate this on purpose?  hmmmm
