I like the idea of leaving the This Rocks button alone and adding Kudo's buttons instead.

That way This Rocks is saved for special things that deserve to be featured.

I would not want everything I gave a kudos to be automatically bookmarked. I don't always want to make something I like.

I agree Pink, I like most of the ideas I've heard here so far. But definitely the thing that sticks out in my mind is keeping the counter private to the original poster. Mainly because I know I might feel bad if my little project got 0 "hits" - also, people might be more compelled to hit "This Rocks" on projects that dont have any hits on their counters because they feel bad

I would TOTALLY be a pity-rocker if I saw someone's first project was up and could tell that no one had rocked it.   Roll Eyes

ha ha! We already have a term for a problem that doesn't exist! Pity-Rocker! Cheesy

So glad for everyone's input here. So many good points.

Glue, buttons, and a wall. Hmmm...

I would have to agree that adding a kudos button would help.  And that the counter should be only viewable to the poster.

P.S.  I think that Pity-rocker is hee to stay!  I love that term.  Hopefully it wouldn't have to be used though.

All of those points sound excellent to me!  I love giving credit where credit is due and the "This ROCKS!" is fun  Cheesy   Especially like the part where the creator gets to read the comments.

I also like that it would log only once per "logger" because I know I have inadvertently "Rocked" things more than once, since fabulous menopause is causing me some memory problems.... *sigh. hopefully only temporary*, lol!

I like the idea, but I think I would be a pity-rocker too. I know that if no one pressed a "this rocks" button on my project, I would feel really bad.
