I made this as a gift for my friend Shelley.  I kept forgetting to give her a Chinese New Year gift (lucky candy) and a Valentine's Day Gift (a handmade heart), so I decided to make it up to her.  I mainly forgot because we work different shifts, so it was difficult to meet up!  I made a woven basket (very easy to do, and great for Easter!), strawberries, and I added 2 hearts (one for her, and one for her husband Jay), 8 lucky candies (8 is a lucky number!) and a package of Strawberry Pocky (who doesn't love Pocky?), and a few turtles.  I'm going to give it to her tomorrow at work.

The whole gift isn't really ALL handmade, but 3/4 of it is.  The Strawberries are made using a special paper just for the purpose (I found it while cleaning my room!) and they're great.  I plan to make a more detailed post about them.

The baskets are a GREAT project to do with kids (my mom used to do them with me when I was younger!) and they make a great small basket for some Easter goodies.  Or anytime you want to make a unique presentation.  The basket shape can also be used to make a fish.  If you would like more information, please let me know!  On either the strawberries or baskets/fish.  The basket is very easy, and I can whip up a tutorial if there's any interest!

I hope she likes it!  Smiley

the reason I didn't post pictures of the pocky, and candy is because they're not really crafty.  The turtles and hearts are part of my other posts.  Smiley

That strawberry paper is too cool. And if you don't mind, I would really appreciate a tutorial for the woven basket and the strawberries.  Smiley

I would love to see a tutorial on how to make the basket and the strawberries. I think it would be cute to have something like that sitting in my kitchen. lol

And Pocky is great! I made the mistake of taking some with me when I babysat my niece and nephew one day last summer. Actually I made the mistake of showing them the box. lol They loved the stuff.
