i'm running behind on my halloween costume and thought i'd poll *ahem*beg*cough* for some help.

i'm going to be a dragonfly, and i want to have the wings attached to my arms (probably an elastic band i can slip my arms through).. but i also want to be able to let them hang loose down my back, so that i can dance without whacking people.  Wink

any suggestions to keep them on me, when not attached to my arms?

here's a pic of what i have in mind.
the wings themselves are already made, and extend further than shown..

could you attatch them to the back of your costume with buttons, so that they could rotate down and hang there during dancing?  i'm not sure how big the wings are, or if that would work, but buttons are the only joint-type thing i can come up with off the top of my head.  velcro (as in taking them off and re-attatching them at a different angle) might not hold if you're going to be moving around a lot.

you could do the elastic strap idea, and have the loops of elastic that your arms go through attach with velcro, so you can un-attach and re-attach quickly.
