(This is cross-posted on glitter, forgive me if you've already seen it)

Several years ago (like 7?) I was Poison Ivy from the Batman movie.  I made her eye appliance thingies and thought they were really cool and have been wanting to do them again ever since.  So this year I made some for my Snow Fairy costume (actually it's more likely I will be an Ice Princess since the eBay seller I did a Buy Now on wings from a week ago does not respond to my emails, has nothing currently listed, and the wings have not arrived yet).  I really can't decide if they're cool or weird.

Sorry about the cheesy "take photograph of yourself in mirror with digital camera" method.  There are pictures with all the hair/eye combo possibilities here

So, hair up or down?  Use the eye thingies or not?

...just my opinion tho...

I agree - I like the hair down, eyes, cape, combination  -- although I saw a weather report for my little corner of the world here that said it is going to be 79 degrees on Saturday so it might be a tad warm for a cape.

Thanks!  I did make the top.  I go nuts for Halloween, I'm a little weird that way.  `-)  I love the cape!  Who knew fake fur would be so much fun.  It's going to be chilly here in DC, so I'll definitely get to wear it (I'll probably check it at coat check though).  I'll post pics of the whole costume after Halloween, I think it's going to come out cute.

GORGEOUS! My sister has a superhero day at work, and wanted to go as Poison Ivy (more of a villain, but whatever) so I did a search for ideas and found this..I love it! How did you make the eye thingies?

I made them out of craft foam painted with fabric paint (the slick kind, not the puffy kind).  The shape was the hardest part.  I believe I put a piece of paper over my eye and (very gently and carefully!) used a pencil to trace the shape of the bone/eyesocket.  Then I cut out a lot of paper patterns to finally refine it to the right shape, then cut out of craft foam and decorated.  I stuck them on with spirit gum.

Here's a pic of the final costume.
