I am about to cry I am so frustrated.

I sew on the test piece of fabric and it's absolutely fine but the minute I touch my actual pattern with it though the thread starts to jam. It starts to form a nice little ball of thread on the underside of the fabric.

I have absolutely no idea what's going on. I've adjusted the needle and bobbin tension ad nauseum. I've looked through the manual and can't find anything. Help? I'm desperate. Feel free to suggest even the most obvious things because I'm completely out of ideas.

Are you starting right at the edge of the fabric?  Try starting in a little ways.
Is your fabric light weight?  try some paper underneath to stabilize it.

Sorry for all the frustration  Embarrassed  What are you making?
