Im trying to make  a skirt out of an old pair of kahkis that i have and ive sewn it all up but in the front it doesnt lay right....it kinda caves in near the zipper area and down about an inch or so....help....  Huh

You probably need to overlap the front part more. Like where the crotch seam is. If you didn't, you should have cut under the zipper a bit and overlapped that. That should help it lay flat.

It's kinda hard to describe, but hopefully that helps.

When i made my first skirt from jeans i had that problem, but i realized that sewing the front legs wasn't working, and i used a scrap peace of material as an insert inbetween the front legs, and sewed the back ones together.  If you can find the pattern on notmartha.com it would probably help illustrate what i'm talking about
