I really wanted a slouchy, floppy, roomy leather-look purse. So, I grabbed my old pleather jacket that I was no longer wearing, and started hacking it apart!

I took a chance on my sewing machine's muscle power and did some ruching/gathering at the opening of the purse. Success! Pleather is much more cooperative than the real thing, I imagine.

I used some of the preexisting button holes/buttons from the coat and made a button closure. I added a white liner (I love black and white for spring), and I was set!

I'm happy with it. It's big and roomy, and just what I wanted. I love when that happens.  Cheesy

Bag-a-licious! I love this reconstruction, it's very good looking. Very smart to use a preexisting buttonhole. Black and white was a great choice.

Very classy looking bag.  I would totally buy something like that, but how much more fun to have made it.

I love this bag! What a way to use an old jacket... Now I wish I'd bought  this lime green pleather number at Goodwill a year ago... Haha.
