So! I have a very big problem that I am very big stuck on.
I just moved from Chicago to Florida 3 weeks ago. We used a moving company-- 2600$ (Cheaper than the UHaul @ 3000$!) and LOVELY little company they were, it took 21 days for our stuff to get here. 21 days of me getting to sleep on the floor. Thank god, they finally came yesterday.
SO! Because of the expense, I wasn't able to take all of my furniture along...so now I have a pretty decent sized room, TONS of books and stuff, a computer, a TV, etc. etc...and no where to put it.
My storage goes like this: My bed, which my daddy made me, has drawers underneath it which can be used for clothes and all that so thats easy. I have a tiny dresser-- 4ft high, 2X3 foot top...my TV goes on top of that. And then I have 3 of those plastic crates. Thats it. and I have tons of room, tons of blank wall space...and nowhere to put all my stuff. Keep in mind: I am a 15 year old girl...with very very little cash.

Everything is WHITE, white WHITE. I dont have the resources now to get large gallons of paint, however if I could find something smaller to do with acrylics or something.

I also have 3 strands of those rope lights that I dont know what to do with.
(like this: http://www.coolstuffcheap.com/ropelights.html )

Any ideas are welcomed! Thanks so much!
And yes, I tried searching but I didnt know WHAT to search for.

My cousin had the problem of blank wall space in one of the rooms of her house, so to liven it up a bit she went out and bought some cheapy border that was fairly wide with some really cute pictures on it and she cut the pics out and sorta pasted them around the room midway down the wall. Just an idea....

Also, you could maybe take the rope lights you have and use them as border in the room if there is enough of them to cover it.

Or you could even buy a small quart of paint and do some stamps or sponge art on the walls. That would be cute!!

For the crates you could make(or buy) some pillows and attach some fabric, kinda like a skirt, and slip them over the crates, like slip covers, so you could remove them if you wanted to.  That way you would have some stools/chairs/foot rests.

If you are not vigilant and demanding of your talent everyday, you will slowly become what you hate.

My wist!!

check out the "mis-tints" section of the paint store - really cheap paint in interesting colors.
Attach the rope light to the wall and attach a piece of interesting paper in an arch over it - instant sconce.

Oooh! What fab ideas! I actually came up with something this afternoon: I took one of my crates and screwed the bottom onto my wall next to my bed as a cubby...its a good place for my alarm clock and things. yay. thanks everyone!!
