right now i really hate yarn... i left a ball of yarn out in the living room last night and the cat got into it... it is now a mass of knots, about 300 yards of yarn which i need all of and i now have to untangle it... i started this morning and only got a small portion untangled because in the process of untangling it, it would tangle up in itself... it doesn't help that the thing i'm making has to be done in a few days... i'm really tempted to just buy a new skein and give the yarn to the cat...  Undecided

What a mess! But we do love the kitties anyway....

I'd try to recover the yarn, but if you're on a deadline....

i'm going to see how far i can get with it tonight... if i can't salvage it then i'll just buy more for the project and save this for another time...

How expensive is it?  Maybe it would be worth it to buy new

it's only about $5 a skein, i'm just getting a new one tonight... the part that i untangled somehow became retangled... so i took a step backwards... it's not worth untangling for the time being... Undecided

How frustrating, I just let my cat play with thread and she managed to wrap it around every chair in the house....... Grin

Aw man.. I almost want to ask you to give it to me. I love untangling things, especially yarn and string. I'd have a blast with it!
but you can call me Liz.

Ugh, Im sorry!  Sad I can relate. I thought the whole "cats love yarn" thing was a cutesy myth for the front of hallmark cards. Then one day I come home and my kitty has dragged my yarn all over the room Sad She only likes wool and alpaca too. Never goes after the Red Heart, oh no.

I hate when that happens!! I had a project almost completed when my cat got a hold of it and did a job on it. It was a lacy pattern ,with yarnovers and such. It was such a jumbled up mess, that i had to unravel the rest of it and start again. Needless to say it took a while for me to get all the yarn untangled and back to normal. I also put the project away for a bit because i couldn't stand the thoughts of getting it started and have the same thing happen. I did finally get it accomplished with out any problems. Wink

been there myself on a couple of occasions.  I have a little miniture american eskimo, she loves sticking her nose where it doesnt belong including my yarn stash and my laundry.

One day I found her with some of my yarn wrapped around her and most of the stuff in the room.  took me a while to untangle the pooch, luckly it was only a small ball of yarn.  it was toooo cute how she tends to throw the yarn around like a rag doll.
