Some surplus stores also carry plexi
I use the same files for plastic and metal.  I use mini files and a #2 file.  I have yet to encounter any problems.  But, when I sand the pieces after filing, I use a different piece of sandpaper than the one I use for metal.  Otherwise, I will get a little nasty gray tint to my acrylic.

Impybat:  I got the plexi from a local plastics dealer.  You can also purchase sheets online if you cannot find a local plastics dealer.

Great, thanks for the info!

You can also sometimes find Plexiglas/ acrylic sheet at surplus stores.

Wow!  That is super cool!  And the edges look perfect.  How big is it?  It looks so detailed.

Thanks!  It's a little less than 2 inches.  It's a tiny pendant, but I really love wearing it.

Oh! That's absolutely adorabe. It's stuff like this that makes me wish I could work with plexi!
