Hey everyone!

Please check out my Beach Ina box.  I love it and I had so much fun making it:

I took one of those wooden boxes you can get at the craft store, painted  it and aged it, glued some trinkets along with a mermaid in the bottom of the box, glued a pic of the beach in the lid and I sealed it all with a bunch of resin so it looks like water.  Then I made starfish and coral out of sculpey, which I may add is very cool, and some real shells.  Please let me know what ya think.

Thanks so much!!

What a cool idea!  We have gone to the beach before and, of course, brought home shells and cool rocks and I've always wondered about cool ways to display or preserve them.  This would be a great way to do it!  The date and place could either be written on the bottom or written in fancy letters somewhere on the box.  Then, a collection of boxes could be started!  And, I would think, every time the box is opened, memories would come back.

Come to think of it, one time, the kids found a crab claw and wanted to keep it.  I don't eeeeven know where it is now but this would have been a great idea to preserve it.

yeah, I agree with ya and that is why I kinda did it.  Thanks so much for the kind words!!  All the sand I use is from our beach trips to our beach in NC.  The beach pic is from a beach trip as well.  I take extra pics of the beach when I go so that I always have extra pics to do crafty things with.  And with the resin, it's stinky stuff, but it really looks good and ensures that nothing gets ruined.
