I used a 24" size 7 (4.5mm) needle. It was a bit of a stretch at the beginning to join the round but after a few increases it was fine. You might have to stretch the stitches a little if you don't have lots of needle sizes. (I used 1 circ and 1 set of DPN's)

I used 24" circs as well, was a bit tight at first, but after a couple of rows it gets easier and didn't stretch.

I'm still knitting two of these. The brown alpaca I posted pictures of earlier just needs sleeves, but I'm not completely happy with how it turned out so I've put it on hold trying to decide wether to frog or not.

My other one features irregular green, grey and blue stripes, and is turning out most satisfactory. Sleeve and a half to go.

I may try again with my size 10 needles.  I've done a number of things on circular needles and I know I'm a tight knitter, but when I first cast on, I had at least 6 inches of unused space on the needles.

Thanks!
I have to say that I love this sweater............it's not too thick so I can layer with it too.... now I have to run to the states and get more of that yarn. It was super nice to work with! I still can't belive how cheap it was!

I've done enough scarves and I really want to start on sweaters now!!!

I've looked at a lot of patterns and want to make them, but I think I'll start with this one instead. No seaming!

After I finish my scarf, my mom's going to take me to Michaels to get the needles and yarn.

Can't wait to see yours too! I recently just tried cables, so I'm in a kind of cable phase. Not sure if I can handle it though.

I want to try stripes, but I'm not sure how to do it. I remember reading in this thread (read all the pages) having trouble with the stripes lining up.
